    erkennbar. >>

<< In Edward Grieg's "Last Spring" and Othmar Schoek's song cycle on four sonnets by Eichendorff entitled "Released Longing", the soloist was soprano Lauren Welliehausen, who interpreted the text very intelligently and above all very musically. Schoek's work in particular is very late spring, very late-Romantic, although first appearing in 1953. Above all else, it's damned hard to sing.
Lauren Welliehausen remained at all times in sovereign command, with no shrillness in the upper range whatsoever, without even a trace of strain. The TfN-Philharmonic under Werner Seitzer was no accompanist to the soloist, but rather a partner. The encore was Hugo Wolf's "Er ist's" on a text by Eduard Mörike, joyfully and happily interpreted. >>

<< Welliehausen shined in her premiere in Springe, superbly convincing her audience of her singing qualities. Most impressive were her crystal clear high notes as well as the lower notes through her expressive technique . >>

<< Lauren Bradley, a soprano with impressive credentials, did not disappoint.  ...after an earlier assignment, before intermission, this reviewer became convinced he could listen to her all night long.
In fact, I would drop everything to hear her in a solo concert.
Again, Ms. Bradley reached the audience with purity of sound and with intense emotion. >>

    Review of Ariadne auf Naxos

<< And then came Lauren Bradley, the most dramatic and sorrowful Ariadne. With such jovial backstage music, this can be a thankless role, but she gave it her all. She was pure pathos until the end, when she and Bacchus triumphed to Strauss’s most glorious music. >>
